Carlene Wells
After graduating from Sheffield University with a 2.2 in Business Studies, Carlene spent six months working as temp while she hunted for a graduate career. Frustrated by the lack of opportunities and support she got from other agencies she turned to 1st Place.

“I was looking for a role where I could use my communication skills to interact with new people, where I could use my degree and still earn a good salary.” After responding to an online advertisement Carlene applied to 1st Place. “1st Place really impressed me from my first contact with them; I applied online and heard back from them almost straight away that I had been short listed for a telephone interview. They arranged a time to suit me and we had a relaxed chat about the sort of career that I would like. They suggested that sales could suit me and invited me to an assessment day.”

After passing the 1st Place assessment Carlene secured a junior field sales role with a leading electronic security firm and thanks to the training and coaching she received from 1st Place, Carlene is now one of the highest performing salespeople in the team.
