What rewards are available?


Sales is a profession that rewards results. The more effective you are at making sales for your company the more you will be rewarded.

Starting salaries vary widely by industry with £15,000 to £26,000 the current average range. This is only part of the picture however, as rewards for successfully hitting targets can be substantial. Commission is the main method of reward for success and will typically make up 40% to 70% of your salary package, meaning that on target earnings (OTE) can often be double your basic salary.

First year salary packages for successful salespeople will often be between £30,000 to £40,000 with the best earning more than £50,000. This makes sales the number one highest paid graduate career.

Salespeople are one of the most heavily incentivised business functions and individuals and teams will often have chance to win exciting prizes such as foreign holidays, electronic goods and attendance at prestige hospitality events.

Increasingly salespeople are encouraged to take a car allowance rather than a company car to avoid large tax penalties. These allowances can add another £4,000 to £7,000 to salary packages.
